Course Description
This course will help you explore the principles of climate-responsive design and climate engineering to achieve net-zero energy buildings with high user comfort while minimizing environmental impact.

Professor Volkmar Bleicher is a scientist with more than 30 years of experience in sustainable architecture, the development of innovative and comfortable buildings, and the optimization of energy efficiency while minimizing environmental impact.
Since 1992, he has worked at Transsolar, a leading planning consultancy based in Stuttgart, Germany, where he has developed innovative energy solutions for buildings around the world. Notable projects include the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, and Suvarnabhumi International Airport in Bangkok, Thailand. Since 2000, he has been a partner and managing director at Transplan Technik-Bauplanung GmbH in Stuttgart, a company specializing in the development and planning of building-specific technical solutions. In this role, he has developed extensive expertise and worked on numerous projects with the goal of achieving “high comfort, low impact,” optimizing comfort in buildings.
In addition to his work in the private sector, Professor Volkmar Bleicher is a leading lecturer at Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences (HFT). He regularly participates in international conferences on sustainable design and integrated planning, as well as activities at other renowned universities. He also serves as an advisor to the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) on building comfort and the promotion of sustainable architecture worldwide.
